El nuevo servicio de streaming Disney Plus alcanzó los 10 millones de suscripciones en su primer día de lanzamiento, muy por arriba de sus propias expectativas, informó la empresa.
Una mezcla de programas y películas de Marvel y Star Wars, filmes clásicos animados y nuevas series de Disney, parece ser el éxito tras el lanzamiento del martes.
Disney ha invertido miles de millones de dólares en su servicio de streaming, que se ofrece en Estados Unidos a un costo de 7 dólares al mes o 70 dólares al año tras una prueba gratis de 7 días. A los clientes de los planes de Verizon inalámbrico e internet en casa se les ofreció un año gratis.
Disney no desglosó de dónde venían las suscripciones, entre ellas las gratuitas, o cuántas fueron por pago mensual o anual. Algunos analistas pensaron que Disney tardaría un año en llegar a los 10 millones de suscriptores.
Netflix ha acumulado 158 millones de suscriptores desde que lanzó su plataforma de streaming en 2007.
